Before School and After School Programs
To accommodate working parents, Manor Montessori School offers Before and After School programs.
Before School: This program runs from 8:00 am to 8:45 am. During this time the children have supervised free play with games, colouring, computers and crafts.
After School: This program runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm. During the warm months the children are outside in the playground. During the colder months, the children play in the gym or they enjoy participating in games, crafts, crosswords, computer activities and colouring in a supervised classroom.
FIELD TRIPS
Lower School Montessori
The Casa children go on two excursions off campus. (i.e. a farm and Center Island) In addition, special guests come into the school to speak and do demonstrations for the children. (i.e. TSO, Lenny Graf, Fire Dept, Police, Humane Society etc.)
Upper School Montessori
In an effort to bring the childrens experiences to "life", field trips are incorporated into many of the childrens studies. Trips include: The Science Centre, ROM, AGO, Theatre, Library and The Mulmur Montessori Outdoor Centre.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Food
- Children bring their own lunches
- Snacks are provided: morning, afternoon and after school (fruit, vegetables, crackers and cheese)
- Starting in October the school has Friday Pizza Day lunches
Parental Involvement
- The school wishes to have a 2:1 ratio field trips We ask that parents sign up to help.
- We need lace-up volunteers at the skating rink
- Parent observations are in November
- Parent/teacher interviews are in December
AfterSchool Clubs At Manor Montessori School we offer a wide and varied program of extracurricular activities for our students. These activities are fun, educational, convenient and cost effective for our parents. Our choice of programs effectively complements and enhances our academic program.
Specialized Services The school has a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist available for consulting if your child requires special attention. In addition, when a school age child requires special services to assist their educational achievement, the school can apply to the Toronto Access Centre for funding.
Professional Behavior All employees and volunteers at Manor Montessori School understand acceptable and unacceptable strategies for guiding children's behavior.
Uniforms All children attending the school are required to wear the blue and white school uniform. Children are also required to wear the school crest. Parents can buy either logo clothing through the school or they can simply buy the school crests.
